Today on new experiences
If you had told me five years ago that on a hot summer night in January 2013 I would be getting a chicken down from a tree, I would have been at least a bit surprised.
Chook Group. One of the hens decided roosting in the barn was boring and stupid; or possibly just that it was cooler out there. Unfortunately for her, there is a local fox who likes chicken, so I had to get her down and lock her in with the rest of the flock.
Eleven eggs tonight. Not bad.

I wonder what colour those chickens were. Depending on the breed, they really might have looked rare and wonderful if you couldn't tell that they were clearly chicken-shaped. My favourite are Australorps, which are black with a green glow.
