I promised a picture a week of something other than my cat. I didn't promise the picture would be pleasant to look at. This week's photo is of the blister on the sole of my right foot, lovingly cultivated since Sunday when I bought new hiking boots.

my right foot, showing huge blister on ball of foot below toe

It's really not that painful. And you know me, if it were I would be complaining nonstop. I have put a couple of holes in it to drain out the lymph, since I have to walk on it. I was kind of amazed at how much came out. I have been covering it with duct tape when I take my walks. I have been watching it carefully to see if it makes any dramatic changes. Apart from that I've been leaving it alone.

Did you know that some people's feet have an arch between their heels and toes? I wonder what that would be like.

the same foot but with lime green duct tape covering the offending area

The flap of blister is very thick. I can look inside (through the drainage holes) and see the pink new skin. Isn't the human body wonderful?

My immediate response was "ouch" and then I read that it doesn't hurt very much. I am glad. P.S. Flat feet is totally a Joint Hypermobility Syndrome thing. *obsessed atm*
